To many people, health means just healthier eating. But it’s also extremely important to remember that this includes physically staying active and keeping the body moving. After all, physical exercise has been proven to have a positive effect on mood, so it’s worth incorporating into your daily routine! There are plenty of ways to do this, but with so many tips and tricks online it can be overwhelming and you might not know where to start. But rest assured, the Puratos family has some first steps to get you on your feet!

Tip 1 – make time for yourself

Day to day life can move pretty fast and making time for yourself can be hard. Whether it’s to watch a movie or to get some exercise in, the days just seem to slip away. But try not to stress over not fitting in an hour of exercise. Instead, commit to starting with ten minutes of exercise a day. One of our sales representatives does 15 flights of stairs before breakfast to get his exercise “out of the way” quickly every day. Did you know three ten-minute workouts may be even more beneficial for your heart than one 30-minute session? That’s good news for your health and your schedule!

Tip 2 – the power of the steps

We’re all guilty of jumping in the car, hailing a cab or hopping on a bus when we could walk or cycle to our destination. Even some of our own colleagues owned up to this – especially when it’s raining! But try to allow for some extra time in your schedule to walk to the shops or cycle to your friend’s house. We know it’s not always possible, but getting your steps in is a great, low-intensity way of improving your health, and even better if you can run your errands at the same time.

Tip 3 – pick your power playlist

Never underestimate the power of a motivating playlist! Our customer service team in particular are great believers in music as the key to keeping active and productive, at the gym, on a hike or even cleaning their homes. Or how about an inspiring podcast on how to create healthy habits? Regardless of what you decide on, listening to something you love is a great way to get lost in your activity and keep it up for longer – give it a go!

So, this weekend why not try heading out for a quick power walk, or cleaning the kitchen to a new podcast? It might just make all the difference and turn into a healthy habit you enjoy! And while you’re improving your physical health, we’ll continue our work on more delicious, nutritious ingredients for the foods to support it!
